Bhagat Sadhna Ji
And The Goat
Bhagat Sadhna Ji was a butcher by profession.
One evening, a customer came to him and asked for one leg of a goat.
Sadhna Ji replied, “I have no meat left. Please come tomorrow.”
But the customer insisted, “You do not need to slaughter the whole goat. Just cut off one leg and give it to me.”
Sadhna Ji went toward the goat with a knife.
As he was about to cut its leg, something extraordinary happened.
The goat began to laugh.
Bhagat Sadhna Ji was shocked and asked, “Why are you laughing?”
The goat said:
“Sadhna, for many lives we have been caught in the cycle of karma. Sometimes you have been the butcher and I the goat, and sometimes the roles have changed. But today you are creating a new kind of suffering by cutting my leg while I am still alive.”
These words deeply touched Sadhna Ji.
The knife fell from his hand.
When he turned around, the customer had disappeared.
Sadhna Ji understood this as a Divine awakening.
From that day onward, he left the profession of killing animals and dedicated his life to Naam, devotion, and remembrance of God.
Message
A moment of awareness can completely change a person’s life.
